Q Is For… Quit! — 4 Comments

  1. So true!!!!! It seems to me we live in a culture that, by and large, glorifies the idea of finishing everything you start. Now, thank goodness, some people are beginning to wake up to the fact that we CAN’T “do it all.” This means it’s important to consider what it matters most to us to do.

Thanks for an insightful and helpful post!

  2. I agree – there’s only enough time and energy to devote to the things that truly matter, and only an honest personal evaluation can determine that. But when we can quit and/or clear out what’s not adding value to our lives, there’s so much more energy and joy available. What’s not to like about that?

  3. Oh my goodness yes!
I’ve been so busy with other things this AtoZ that I’m only now getting around to blog visiting.
I was recently challenged to write a letter to myself 10 years in the future… and I was stunned by what came out. Apparently the things that I’m focusing my energy on are not the things my subconscious yearns for! This is definitely a time for me to sort that out.

  4. Interesting perspective. As someone who was only able to rekindle their creative muse upon retirement from full time employment, I can certainly agree that it’s really hard – if not impossible – to work on something creative like writing when you are buried under mounds of other tasks, distractions and life’s minutia. The very idea that you might have a choice! You have options, you say? Even as the words roll around in my mouth, I know you’re right. Don’t wait until you’re 65 to figure it out like someone else I know.
