The Night Is A Harsh Mistress, by A. Catherine Noon; Chapter 4 — No Comments

  1. Ooh I like it, great cliffie I\’d love to read more! (and Viktor reminds me of Edward) Very well written

  2. Oh, geeze, I was going to say the same thing fey did about nice cliffy. I swear. I was even going to spell it that way, too.

But really, what a perfect hook at the end of the chapter to keep the reader\’s interest!

(Gosh, who be this poor little boy?)

  3. I like this chapter Noony! A man in the picture, lots of intrigue,
you have given this a \’cold war\’ feel to it and a very nifty twist at the end. 🙂

  4. We are all of a like mind. I was thinking of a really not sexy Edward as well, and a great hook at the end. Of course, the hook at the end of the previous chapter was a good one too.
Way to go, what a mess this case is turning into for Rachel.

  5. I absolutely loved this description. It is so … I dunno. It\’s just awesome:

\”Viktor Khrushchev sat at her desk, a cigarette in his hand and a smirk on his long-nosed face. His clear blue eyes laughed at her even though he made no sound.\”

Viktor jumped off the screen. I totally forgot who David Greene was, but you brought me back to earth at the end and the PLOT THICKENS. *lol* Great job!!

  6. I see him as a bit of Edward and Viggo from Eastern Promises and would have even without your insight. You described his controlled scariness spot on. Another perfect spot to leave us hanging.
