The F Word — 7 Comments

  1. Your post made me smile, because I feel the same way. 🙂 Without the internet, I don\’t know if I\’d have found such a wonderful writing community, and made so many great friends. You\’re the best! And, did you really talk like that to your grandpa? ~giggle~ Cute story!

    • I\’m glad you agree! And yes, I\’m very sad to say that I did say that to my grandfather. Granted, I don\’t remember it, because I was so young, but yup. I try to be careful of my language around my niece and nephews, lol. Don\’t want to repeat history. 🙂

  2. I would have loved to have seen the look on your grandpas face! Yes, I did think you were going to post about that other f word. Glad I checked.

    • Oh, Gosh. I\’m not sure I would have! 🙂 I certainly never did it again, once I was old enough to understand the difference. My parents tell me that I used that word for about six months. They used the \”ignore it and don\’t get excited\” approach to curtailing it, but I did embarrass my mother quite a bit. The workmen she had doing some house remodeling were certainly startled as I looked up at them from my baby gate and said \”Hi, effing!\” 🙂

I\’m just glad I haven\’t passed that word on to my niece and nephews. My brothers- and sisters-in-law would probably murder me in my sleep if I did. lol

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment! Good luck with the challenge!
